T-Mobile 5G Business Internet vs. Verizon 5G Business Internet

Caroline Lefelhoc / Updated Sep 28, 2026 | Pub. Sep 28, 2026

If you’re looking into 5G business internet, two providers dominate this category: T-Mobile and Verizon. Both run on strong nationwide 5G networks, both skip the annual contract, and both can have you online the same day the box arrives. So the question is: which one fits how your business runs? T-Mobile wins on price and simplicity. Verizon wins on performance and documented reliability. Get the full details on both providers below.

T-Mobile 5G Business Internet

T-Mobile prioritizes predictable pricing with little to no fine print. This is the small-business 5G internet plan for owners who hate surprises on their invoices.

Pricing and the 5-year price guarantee

T-Mobile keeps its rate card refreshingly short. The entry-level Small Business tier starts at around $35 per month. The main Business Internet plan runs about $50 a month with AutoPay (roughly $85 without), and a higher-capacity tier in 5G Ultra Capacity zones lands around $85 a month. There are no annual contracts and no equipment fees, and every plan includes unlimited data.

The headline when it comes to pricing is T-Mobile’s 5-Year Price Guarantee—it will not raise the price of your fixed-wireless 5G internet data for at least five years while you stay on an eligible plan. Taxes, fees, and optional upgrades sit outside that promise, which is standard, but the core rate is locked. For an owner budgeting three years out, that stability is an incredible value.

Speeds, data, and setup

T-Mobile does not sell rigid speed tiers the way Verizon does. Instead, you get variable performance that typically lands in the 200 to 245 Mbps download range, with uploads around 20 to 30 Mbps. That is not a weakness on paper: independent Ookla testing through the first half of 2026 put T-Mobile at the top of the fixed wireless field, with a median download speed near 223 Mbps, ahead of both Verizon and AT&T’s fixed wireless. The trade-off is consistency. Because speeds vary by location and tower load, and because business internet traffic can be deprioritized during network congestion, your real performance depends heavily on your location.

Setup is simple. The Wi-Fi 7 gateway ships to you, and most owners self-install through the app in about 15 minutes. No wiring, no trench, no technician visit.

The Microsoft 365 bundle and wireless savings

Qualifying setups can include Microsoft 365 (or Netflix, if you prefer) at no additional cost, which quietly offsets a subscription you may already be paying for. Additionally, pairing your internet with a T-Mobile business voice line earns a recurring bill credit, often in the $20 to $30 range, which can bring your effective internet cost close to $30. If you are already carrying business phones on T-Mobile, then stacking is the easiest way to save in this whole comparison. T-Mobile also reimburses up to $800 in early termination fees to help you switch away from your current provider.

5G business internet showdown

Verizon 5G Business Internet

Verizon takes the opposite approach. You pay more, and in return you get defined speeds, lower lag, and a longer price lock. This is the Verizon Business Internet plan for owners who treat connectivity as infrastructure, not a utility bill to minimize.

Pricing and speed tiers

Verizon publishes clear tiers, which makes planning easy:

100 Mbps for $69 a month, 200 Mbps for $99 a month, and 400 Mbps for $199 a month. All tiers include unlimited data with no advertised throttling, no annual contract, and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. The tiered structure matters because you are buying a known ceiling. If you need 400 Mbps for a busy office, you can order exactly that rather than hoping your tower delivers.

Verizon’s edge is latency. In independent 2026 benchmarking, Verizon 5G Business Internet typically posts latency in the 25 to 35 ms range, while T-Mobile tends to sit closer to 40 ms. Verizon’s own network labels can show higher ranges under congestion depending on the tier, so treat 25 to 35 ms as a strong typical rather than a floor. Still, for real-time work like VoIP calls, video meetings, and cloud apps, those extra milliseconds of responsiveness add up across a workday.

The 10-year price guarantee and the SLA question

Verizon’s version of price certainty stretches further: a 10-year price guarantee for new 5G Business Internet customers in eligible areas, applied to your base internet rate with no long-term contract required. Ten years of a locked rate is the longest promise in the category by a wide margin.

Now, about the Verizon business internet SLA. Neither T-Mobile nor Verizon attaches a hard, money-back uptime SLA to standard 5G fixed wireless the way a dedicated fiber line does. What Verizon offers instead is a stronger, better-documented reliability foundation: published network performance labels, a dedicated 24/7 business support path, and a clear upgrade path to SLA-backed Internet Dedicated service if your operation later needs contractual uptime guarantees. If reliability commitments and a paper trail matter to you, Verizon gives you more to stand on.

Wireless bundle savings and switching help

Add a qualifying Business Unlimited smartphone line and the 100 Mbps plan drops to about $35 a month, thanks to a $30 monthly mobility credit plus a $4 internet credit (available on up to six lines per account). New customers can grab one-time bill credits of $99 on the 200 Mbps tier or $199 on the 400 Mbps tier. And the switching incentive is the biggest in this matchup: Verizon will cover up to $1,500 of your old provider’s early termination fee as a bill credit, applied after 60 days of service, once you send documentation.

Note that the router (the Verizon Internet Gateway, around $350 to $400) is bundled through a device payment plan on the 100 and 200 Mbps self-setup plans and included via an instant discount on the pro-install 400 Mbps plan, so factor equipment into your first-year math.

CGNAT, static IPs, and what it means for VPNs and hosting

This is the technical detail that trips up businesses, so read this part twice if you run servers or remote access. Both T-Mobile and Verizon place fixed wireless customers behind CGNAT (carrier-grade NAT) by default, which means you share a public IP address rather than owning your own.

For most work, that is fine. If your team connects out to a company VPN to reach internal systems, CGNAT does not get in the way, because that is an outbound connection. Where CGNAT bites is inbound traffic: hosting your own website or app, running an on-site server, opening ports for a security camera system, or standing up your own VPN server for staff to dial into. Those need to be reachable from the outside, and a shared address blocks the direct path.

The good news is that both carriers sell a static IP as a business add-on, which lifts you out of CGNAT and restores normal hosting and port forwarding. If you would rather not pay for that, tunneling tools like Tailscale, ZeroTier, or Cloudflare Tunnel solve most inbound access needs without a static IP at all.

Choosing a 5G provider

Which Provider Should You Choose for Business Internet?

Choose T-Mobile if you want the lowest, most predictable bill, a dead-simple self-install, and everyday reliability for a shop, office, or startup. The 5-year price guarantee, the included Microsoft 365 option, and the deep discount when you bundle a voice line make it the best-value pick for cost-conscious owners. It is the no-contract business internet choice that just works.

Choose Verizon if performance is the point. Defined tiers up to 400 Mbps, lower typical latency for video and cloud work, a 10-year price lock, up to $1,500 in switching help, and firmer reliability footing make it the better fit for performance-sensitive operations that need documented commitments and room to scale.

For most small businesses, T-Mobile is the value winner. For performance-sensitive businesses, Verizon is worth the premium.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is T-Mobile or Verizon better for small business internet?

For most small businesses, T-Mobile is the better everyday choice because it costs less, locks your price for five years, and installs in minutes. Verizon is the better pick if your work depends on low latency and higher, more predictable speeds, since it offers defined tiers up to 400 Mbps and a 10-year price guarantee. Match the provider to your workload: value and simplicity point to T-Mobile, performance and reliability point to Verizon.

Do T-Mobile and Verizon business internet require a contract?

No. Both offer no-contract 5G business internet. You pay month to month, and each provider adds long-term price protection instead of a lock-in commitment: five years with T-Mobile and up to ten years with Verizon for eligible customers.

Can I host a server or run a VPN on 5G business internet?

You can, but plan for CGNAT. Both providers put you behind a shared IP by default, which blocks inbound connections, such as hosting a server, opening camera ports, or running your own VPN server. Connecting out to a company VPN still works fine. To host or accept inbound traffic, add a static IP (available as a business upgrade from both carriers) or use a tunneling tool such as Tailscale or Cloudflare Tunnel.
